Second Degree Murder charge laid in Saddle Lake Cree Nation

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes unit’s investigation into the homicide of a 25-year-old male, Francis Primeau, from Saddle Lake Cree Nation, who was found deceased on a driveway on Saddle Lake Cree Nation, on June 7, 2021, has resulted in an arrest and charges.

On June 25, 2021, Alberta RCMP Major Crimes charged Charlton Dwight Gladue, 34, of Saddle Lake Cree Nation with Second Degree Murder.

Following a judicial hearing, Gladue was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in St. Paul Provincial Court on July 8, 2021.

It is believed this incident was targeted.

As this matter is now before the courts, no further details will be provided.
