Lakeland Catholic is Pleased to Announce Amanda Wildman As Communications Officer
Lakeland Catholic School Division is pleased to announce Amanda Wildman as the Communications Officer for the2021-2022 school year.
Amanda was born and raised in Kingston, Ontario. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree from Queen’s University with a major in Sociology and a minor in English Literature in 2003. In 2006, she completed a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta. In 2012 Amanda completed a post-graduate certificate in Adult and Continuing Education from the University of Victoria.
Her teaching career began in 2006 at Portage College where she taught English, Math and a variety of CTS courses to adult learners in the former Learning and Employment Foundations program. In 2009, Amanda began teaching at Lakeland Catholic School Division and took on
the leadership role as CTS Coordinator for the Division leading the Paving Health Pathways curriculum implementation from 2009-2012. She worked with schools across the division to pilot the High School Redesign initiative from 2012-2014. From 2012-2015 Amanda took the lead on the Division’s Provincial Dual Credit Strategy. In 2014, Amanda moved into a combined role of serving the division as CTS/Dual Credit
Coordinator and Communications Officer.
Amanda and her husband Josh have a daughter Olivia who is nine-years-old, and she attends St. Dominic Elementary School. She enjoys spending time with her family and working out. She and her family are members of St. Dominic and Assumption parishes in Cold Lake.
An example of scripture that resonates with Amanda is Psalm 28:7, “The Lord is my strength and my shield; in Him my heart trusts; so I am helped, and my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to Him.”
When asked about what she hopes to bring to this position, she said, “I am excited to continue to serve the division, board of trustees, staff, students and families of Lakeland Catholic School Division. I look forward to continuing to cultivate and maintain internal and external communication and public relations between the school division and its stakeholders to support its vision and mission.”
