Today is World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development
Leela Sharon Aheer, Minister of Culture, Multiculturalism and Status of Women, issued the following statement on World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development:
“Today, on World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, we celebrate the wealth of different perspectives and experiences in Alberta.
“The many different cultures in Alberta open our eyes up to new ideas and new ways of life and enrich our arts, culture, and most of all, our communities. Celebrating our province’s diversity and finding ways to work together are the keys to building a future where everyone in Alberta can succeed.
“We can all be a part of building this future, where people of all backgrounds feel safe, respected, and valued. There are many opportunities in Alberta to celebrate and learn about different cultures, including heritage events, film festivals, art shows, and more. I encourage all Albertans to find ways, big or small, to show how much we value our vibrant multiculturalism.”
