Bonnyville RCMP locate stolen property during search warrant
Bonnyville RCMP locate stolen construction equipment following the execution of two search warrants at a rural property located north of Bonnyville, Alta.
On May 12, 2021, Bonnyville RCMP, Lakeland Crime Reduction Unit along with the assistance of the RCMP Auto Theft Unit, executed a search warrant on a residence and vehicle in Bonnyville. During the search members located a large piece of stolen construction equipment, a Bomag packer, valued at over $100,000. Multiple stolen vehicles and stolen vehicle parts were also located and seized by police.
Alfred Douglas Tizzard (42) of La Corey, Alta. has been charged with:
- Possession of stolen property over $5000 (x5)
- Possession of stolen property under $5000 (x4)
- Possession of an illegal substance
- Careless use of a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
Tizzard has been released from custody following a Judicial Interim Release hearing and is scheduled to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on May 27, 2021.
“Excellent collaboration between specialized units and members on duty brought this investigation to a successful conclusion,” says Sgt. Kimberly Hillier, Bonnyville RCMP acting detachment Commander. “Combatting property theft and rural crime remains a top priority for our members.”
