Cold Lake Cruisers fuel smiles with birthday drive-bys
The smell of octane and rubber was in the air in Cold Lake Friday night as the Cold Lake Cruisers completed five drive-bys for children who celebrated birthdays.

The children were all smiles when roughly 40 cars rumbled carefully through their neighborhood’s around 7:00 p.m. on May 14 to fuel some smiles to celebrate their birthdays. The children were even given gifts from the group who says they deeply care about the community.
Denise Pollard is the Secretary for the Cold Lake Cruisers.
“The gifts are not club sponsored,” Pollard told Lakeland Connect. “A couple of us just do it out of the goodness of our hearts and pockets.”
The club really made the children’s birthdays special and it seemed to lighten spirts as everyone on the route came outside of their houses to wave and show support.

The club meets every Friday night in Cold Lake, takes requests for the birthday drive-bys and Polland encourages everyone to join.
“Anyone can join in any kind of vehicle,” Pollard told Lakeland Connect. “We simply post our route, departure, location, time and participants, including club members, and people show up. The number of participants varies from week to week.”
