Bonnyville Museum receives donation
The Bonnyville Museum recently received a donation from the Bonnyville Firefighters Association to help with repairs due to water damage at the historical Fire Hall.
A total of $2079 was given to the museum.
Craig Wenzel is the Station 5 Fire Chief for Bonnyville.
“The Bonnyville Firefighters Association (BFFA) is made up of the firefighters from Bonnyville Station 5 who, in a different aspect of giving to the community, fundraise to help with different things,” Wenzel told Lakeland Connect. “Some of our fundraisings come in the form of cleaning parking lots to silent auctions throughout the year.”
Wenzel says the funds for their Association membership enable them to donate to various causes and they are committed to preserving the history in our communities.
“The fire department has been in Bonnyville since 1946 and it is very important to showcase the history of not only the department but also the entirety of our community for generations to come,” Wenzel said.
Wenzel would like to invite the public to visit once the museum opens again.
“Be sure to stop in and see the hall that is so rich with history, as well as a home for one of our original fire trucks that used to serve Bonnyville and area,” Wenzel concluded.
