The Mounties in Bonnyville have had 111 calls to date this week. 37 of these calls were related to traffic investigations, whether violation tickets, warnings or traffic collisions.

On Saturday, April 24, there was a report of a theft from a Helix Oilfield yard site. The person reporting the theft says a lone suspect had entered the yard, then proceeded to steal two motocross helmets and goggles, and a small air compressor. The theft was captured on video surveillance on the site. Mounties say the investigation continues and any information on the thief or the stolen items can be forwarded to the Bonnyville RCMP.

The very next day on April 25, a resident reported a suspect had broken into his yard and gone through several vehicles on 54th Ave near 58th Street.  Nothing appeared to be stolen as the vehicles were empty. Any information can be forwarded to the Bonnyville RCMP

On Tuesday, April 27, around 9:30 p.m. there was a bear spray attack. The victim reports being assaulted by a lone suspect. The Mounties attended the scene and the victim was transported for medical attention as a result. After some investigation, police located and arrested the suspect, the 31-year-old male from Bonnyville has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.  He was later released on an undertaking for court on August 3, 2021.

Yesterday morning, Wednesday April 28,  a break and enter and theft of equipment occurred at a Timberwolf Environmental yard located on Range Road 453. Suspects stole a generator, herbicide spray unit, two way radios, a gps unit and keys along with gas syphoned from vehicles. They also caused damage to fence upon entry.

The Mounties continue to investigate.
