Bonnyville man wins $100K EXTRA draw

Munzir Elaman had an extra special weekend in late-January.

The Bonnyville local checked his LOTTO MAX and EXTRA ticket and discovered he won $100,000 on the January 29 EXTRA draw.

Elaman purchased his winning ticket on the day of the draw at the 7-Eleven located at 4819 50 Avenue in Bonnyville. He returned to the store the next day to scan his ticket.

“I always check the lottery numbers online and take my tickets to the store if they won something,” he said. “When I saw that this ticket won $100,000 I could not believe it – it was awesome.”

The new winner said his winnings will go toward one big purchased – a house.

“I’ve wanted to buy my own home for a long time,” he said. “This money is going to make a great down payment.”

Elaman won the EXTRA’s second-top prize by matching the last six digits of the EXTRA number – 2556893.
