The Vermilion & District Chamber of Commerce will be hosting virtual event for people to connect with local government officials on March 31, at 7 pm.

Chamber Business Connect will feature speeches from Vermilion-Lloydminster-Wainwright Garth Rowswell, County of Vermilion River Reeve Lonnie Wolgien (TBC), Mayor of the Town of Vermilion Caroline McAuley, and Vermilion RCMP acting Detachment Commander Cpl. Mike Dunsmore.

“I think people will get some valuable information from the officials and have an opportunity to have their questions answered,” said Chamber Office Manager, Leanne Martin.

“It’s important to always keep ourselves informed and by attending events like this, you will be able to know what is happening locally and reach out if you have any questions or concerns.”

Any residents from the Town of Vermilion, Village of Mannville, or County of Vermilion River can participate. Business Connect events are a way for members to interact with one another more, but this event will allow all citizens to connect with their elected and public officials more.

Speakers will each be giving an update, but there will also be time for questions and answers at the end.

If you are unable to attend, you can still send in your questions by email to leanne@vermilionalbertachamber.com.

The event is free, but preregistering at https://vermilionalbertachamber.com/ is required so that the online meeting link can be sent out.

More Business Connect events will continue throughout the year.

Martin said, “We feel that strong relationships make for a strong chamber. Having a strong chamber benefits all businesses because the voices of many are more likely to be heard than the voice of just one.”
