RCMP charge man with stolen vehicle, drug possession after patrols
Bonnyville RCMP arrested a man with outstanding warrants out of Edmonton after a traffic stop on January 15.
Police initiated a traffic stop around 4:00pm southwest of Bonnyville in the Kehewin area. The vehicle the suspect was driving was found to have been stolen just a few hours before, RCMP said.
During the arrest, police searched the vehicle and said they found what they suspect is methamphetamine and several driver’s licenses.
He was also wanted on 15 outstanding warrants issued by the Edmonton Police Service.
Dennis Paskimin (White), 36, of Edmonton is additionally charged with the following offences:
- Theft of motor vehicle
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
- Identity Fraud
- Possession – Schedule I: Other
- Identity Theft (x2)
- Resists/obstruct peace officer
- Violations under the Traffic Safety Act (x4)
He was remanded into custody by a Justice of the Peace and held until Jan. 19. His next court date is Feb. 2.
A passenger, a 25 year old female from Edmonton was also charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and released on an undertaking for court in Bonnyville on March 16, 2021. Her name was not released by the RCMP at press time.
