Known suspect vehicle leads to Bonnyville RCMP arrest

Police patrols led to Bonnyville RCMP arresting a known suspect last Monday evening.

At around 5:30pm, police spotted a known suspect vehicle, a white Audi A4, parked at a local restaurant in Bonnyville.

The suspect fled as RCMP attempted a traffic stop, with multiple patrols now on the search for the suspect.

When it was located, police say the driver fled on foot into a field and Police Dog Services was able to track and arrest the suspect.

A Judicial Interim Release hearing was held and the suspect, 28 year old Kelly Renaud of Bonnyville, was remanded into custody until last Thursday for a court appearance.

In addition to two outstanding traffic warrants, he faces multiple new charges, including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, operation while prohibited, flight from a peace officer, and unauthorized possession of a weapon, with brass knuckles.
