Bonnyville residents could get a resolution soon to their concerns about the local registry office.
Service Alberta has confirmed a successful applicant has been chosen to open a new registry office in town.
“The RFP for a new registry agent office in Bonnyville closed in August 2020 and a successful applicant has been chosen,” said Tricia Velthuizen, press secretary for the Minister of Service.
“Service Alberta is in the process of finalizing the contract and registry agent agreement and we anticipate the registry will be open in February 2021, following staff training, office preparation, and other required preparations.”
In July, the provincial government put out requests for proposals to run a new vehicle and registries admin office.
Previously, due to the size of Bonnyville, there has only been one registry office allowed.
