The Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority welcomed its newest team member.

Cell Phone Sally debuted on Thursday with a big welcome at the Station 5 hall. Sally joins Sparky as part of engaging with kids on safety tips and education.

She’s the 911 mascot while Sparky remains the fire mascot.

“Cell Phone Sally will be assisting us in all our educational purposes. So when we have EMS Week, she’ll be making parents we have Fire Prevention Week she’ll be there,” said Annamarie Wirachowsky, 911 dispatcher.

“Once the COVID restrictions have lifted, she will come into the schools with us and educate children on how and when to call 911.

“We want to give a great big shout out to Cenovus Energy for helping in the donation of Cell Phone Sally, and to the Northern Light Public School division for bringing in Cell Phone Sally to us today.”
