Thirty active COVID-19 cases in St. Paul’s “Local Geographic Area”

There are 16 active cases in Cold Lake’s “Local Geographic Area” on the Alberta Health Services COVID-19 map on Tuesday.

Cold Lake First Nations is reporting three active cases with 13 recoveries, which will have cases included on the map.

Saddle Lake reports 18 active cases, of 59 total, after the closure of their Health Care Centre, which reported an outbreak last week. Kihew Asiniy Education Centre is closed for in-person services for at least three weeks.

The St. Paul area has 30 active cases currently, which includes Saddle Lake.

In the Bonnyville area there is 11 active cases, with eight active cases reported yesterday in Kehewin.

Two infections are active in the Lac La Biche area, two in the Frog Lake area, and one in the Smoky Lake area.

One case is active in the Two Hills area and one is active in Vermilion River County area.

2,268 new cases over last four days

On Tuesday, chief medical officer Dr. Deena Hinshaw reported 570 new cases Tuesday, and 2,268 infections since the last update on Friday.

That means 581 cases were reported Saturday, 525 on Sunday, and 592 on Monday.

“This is not good news. This is a problem,” she said during a press conference.

There are 167 Albertans in hospital currently with the virus, 27 of those are in intensive care.

COVID-related deaths in the province are at 338, with 15 reported since the last update from Dr. Hinshaw.
