Artists to try coloured pencil drawing in Vermilion
Participants will have the opportunity to learn from local artist, Monica To, during a coloured pencils art class in Vermilion this Saturday.
Upper Level Pottery & Art Gallery will be hosting the class for beginners to learn coloured pencil drawing techniques and materials. Participants will experiment with strokes, textures, and blending, to create images that vary from gentle to bold.
“Different techniques can change the style and quality of a finished product. Also, different people will enjoy different techniques,” said To.
She also encouraged using coloured pencils as a medium.
“They’re affordable, attainable, and portable compared to some other mediums that might be more expensive, hard to find, and more cumbersome to transport.”
People aged 14 and over are welcome to register, and To will provide photo references and materials for each person to create a finished picture. There will be a half-hour lunch break, so for those who wish to work through it can bring a bagged lunch.
COVID restrictions will be in place so participants are asked to please bring masks.
Coloured Pencils will take place on November 7 from 10am – 5pm. You can register for $125 in person at Upper Level Pottery & Art Gallery, or by emailing upperlevelgallery@gmail.com.
