An Elizabeth Settlement man is facing several charges after an investigation into drug trafficking revealed ties to a stolen truck.

On Sept. 29, Bonnyville General Investigation Section (GIS) laid charges in relation to an ongoing drug trafficking investigation with the assistance of Edmonton ALERT.

But as the investigation went on, Bonnyville RCMP laid charges for a vehicle theft that occurred in relation to the trafficking investigation.

On Oct. 6, Cold Lake RCMP members began tracking a stolen vehicle and followed it to a property on Cold Lake First Nations.

That’s when the male suspect of the Bonnyville Trafficking Investigation was arrested.

Clifford Mackenzie Katcheech faces charges of meth trafficking, truck theft, and failing to comply with an undertaking from Bonnyville RCMP.

Cold Lake Mounties charged him with drug possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine and meth) and two stolen property charges.

Katcheech was remanded into custody and is set to next appear in court on all charges on Wednesday, October 28, at Cold Lake Provincial Court.
