EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Education and Outreach Coordinator

LICA is looking for a qualified individual to fill this exciting and dynamic position!

The Education and Outreach (E&O) Coordinator is responsible for developing and
delivering environmental education programs within the LICA region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Plan, coordinate, and facilitate:
• Environmental education and outreach initiatives including:
oYouth programs
o Classroom presentations
oEducation and outreach activities such as presentations, forums,
and community events and workshops
• E&O Committee meetings
2. Develop, create, and manage:
• New programs, presentations, events, campaigns, and workshops
• LICA website content
• Brochures, newsletters, and other publications
• Social media content and advertisement
• Budget for E&O programs and related expenses
3. Contribute to:
• Preparation of grant applications and required reporting
• Preparation of E&O content within the Annual Report
• Preparation of Annual General Meeting
4. Membership and Volunteers:
• Inform and train current members and volunteers for upcoming events and
opportunities
• Promote membership and volunteer registration
5. Projects:
• Assist with specific projects and associated contracts as needed
6. General:
• Attend conferences/workshops as directed
• Adhere to all Board policies and procedures, including specified deadlines
• Attend meetings as requested
• Provide direction to temporary employee(s) as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working with youth and children
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives
• Strong computer skills, using Microsoft Office and Adobe
• Self-motivated and passionate about the environment and education
• Innovative, creative, and enthusiastic
• Flexibility in work schedule
• Valid Driver’s license
• Access to a reliable vehicle and willing to travel throughout the LICA region

CONSIDERED ASSETS:

• Degree and/or diploma in Environmental Sciences and/or Education, or related
field (geography, biology, forestry, agriculture)
• 2 years’ experience in Education and Outreach program coordination and
delivery
• Experience working in the non-profit sector

Christa has been local to the Lakeland for most of her life, having lived in Bonnyville since elementary school.
