Elk Point RCMP joint operation nets three wanted males
Three men with outstanding warrants were arrested by RCMP on Sept. 23 after a joint operation in the MD of Bonnyville and County of St. Paul.
According to the media release, 22-year old Cody Lacombe of Fishing Lake tried to escape by running through the woods.
He was followed by the RCMP helicopter and police dog and charged with resisting a peace officer, in addition to his outstanding charges of assault with a weapon, flight from police, and possession of property obtained by crime.
Lacombe is scheduled to appear in St. Paul Provincial Court on Thursday.
37-year old Clayton Huppie of Lac La Biche was found sleeping in a vehicle holding a gun and arrested without incident. He was under a firearms prohibition at the time of the arrest and charged with a number of firearms offenses.
His court date is set for St. Paul Provincial Court on October 8.
44-year old Fergus Brosseau of Fishing Lake is charged with common nuisance-endanger life, resisting a peace officer, flight from police, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He had outstanding drug charges at the time of his arrest. According to the media release, Brosseau led police on a car chase from the Elizabeth Métis Settlement to Bonnyville before running on foot.
He is scheduled to appear in St. Paul Provincial Court on Oct. 15.
“Collaboration with multiple units and detachments resulted in these arrests,” said Cst. Guillaume Wilson of the Eastern Alberta District Rural Crime Reduction Unit. “We will continue these operations to seek out those who try to evade police.”
