New confirmed COVID-19 case in County of Two Hills

There is a new confirmed case of COVID-19 in the County of Two Hills, the province’s virus data map shows on Friday.

This is the tenth total case within the County of Two Hills, which has seen eight recoveries and one death due to coronavirus.

However, the one remaining active case in the County of St. Paul has shown resolved symptoms–that makes five total recoveries in that area.

An eleventh case of COVID-19 has also resolved in Smoky Lake County.

There remains one active case within the County of Vermilion River as of Friday.

There has been ten total cases in the M.D. of Bonnyville, five in Cold Lake, five in the County of St. Paul, and one in Lac La Biche, which have all recovered.

On Friday, 158 new cases were confirmed across the province and 1,185 total cases are active.

The province’s data says the average age of a COVID case who has died is 83 years old.

The average age of a hospital stay or ICU admission is 62 years old, and the average age of those with positive infections is 38 years old.

Five Albertans under the age of 60 who have contracted the virus have died as a result from the total death toll of 237.
