Motorcyclist dies in accident in Smoky Lake County on Saturday
A Fort McMurray woman has died after a motorcycle accident in Smoky Lake County on Saturday.
Smoky Lake RCMP responded at around 3:00pm yesterday to a report of a single vehicle motorcycle collision on Highway 831 north of the North Saskatchewan River near Victoria Trail in the County of Smoky Lake.
Smoky Lake RCMP and EMS attended to the scene and the 46-year-old female motorcyclist from Fort McMurray was taken to hospital where she was pronounced deceased, RCMP said.
The police’s preliminary investigation indicates the motorcyclist was heading northbound on Highway 831 and lost control near Victoria Trail, striking the guard rail.
Smoky Lake RCMP are investigating this fatality.
The name of the deceased will not be released, police said.
