Power outage in Bonnyville caused by goose

Bonnyville residents should expect the power to be out for the next few hours after a goose flew into a powerline east of town.

Councilor Chad Colbourne explained, “a goose was taking off and hit the powerline.  Blowing it to smithereens.”

Not only did the goose lose its life, but as a result the powerline went down.

Atco is on site, across from Ècole des Beaux Lacs, and technicians are working to restore the powerline.

The majority of town, and some residents as far as LaCorey and Vezeau Beach are without power and should expect a few hours of downtime while technicians work to repair the line.
