Vermilion RCMP lay 60 drugs, weapons, stolen property charges on three
Vermilion RCMP have charged three people with weapons, drugs, and stolen property crimes after a break and enter at a local business on July 30.
Mounties executed a search warrant last Thursday for the shared residence of the three suspects.
Police also recovered stolen items from a separate break-in on July 28.
Several firearms, two of which were prohibited firearms due to being modified, multiple illegal drugs and a small amount of commercial explosive devices, were seized.
Charges have been laid against Mark Cameron (46), of Vermilion:
- Break and enter
- Possession of property obtained by crime X 9
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Possess prohibited weapon X3
- Trafficking in property obtained by crime
- Possession of illegal drugs X4
Ken Thomas (39) of Vermilion:
- Break and enter
- Possession of property obtained by crime X 9
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Possess prohibited weapon X3
- Trafficking in property obtained by crime
- Fail to comply with release order X2
- Possession of illegal drugs X4
Paige Tkachuk (24) of Vermilion:
- Break and enter
- Possession of property obtained by crime X 9
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Possess prohibited weapon X3
- Trafficking in property obtained by crime
- Possess break in instruments
- Possession of illegal drugs X4
All three accused were held for judicial release hearings and remain in custody. Cameron and Tkachuk are next appearing August 10, 2020 in Vermilion Provincial Court.
Thomas‘ next appearance is August 17, 2020 in Vermilion Provincial Court. More charges are anticipated as the investigation continues.
