Bonnyville Legion throwing block party

The Bonnyville Legion will be hosting a block party this Sunday, complete with food, prizes, and live entertainment, all in the name of raising money for a good cause.

The party will kick off 9:30 am in front of the Legion, which has closed the whole of 52nd Ave for the day. Breakfast such as steak or sausage and eggs will be on sale for $15 and $10 respectively until 1 pm, and $7 for kids. Coffee and juice will be included.

Motorcycle owners will also have a chance to show off their bikes at the event, and while the focus will be on showcasing motorcycles car owners are invited to bring their vehicles along, though the capacity for which may be limited. Children may also bring along their bicycles to showcase.

A cakewalk for children will also take place.

Live entertainment will be provided by Terry Philips and other Legion entertainers, while Justin Marshall will handle emcee duties.

The festivities will run for as long as people are participating, which the event organizers predict will be around 5 pm, which is when the bar will close.

There will be silent and live auctions for a variety of prizes, for which there are around 50.

Proceeds generated from the auctions as well as $5 from every food sale will go towards the Haying in the 30s Cancer Support Society, which provides financial assistance to those suffering from cancer.
