COVID-19 cases confirmed in Two Hills and Vermilion area
There are now three active confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Two Hills area and one case in the Vermilion area on Thursday.
The Alberta Health Services data map shows the first cases in the County of Two Hills area during the pandemic, while this is the seventh total case in the Vermilion River County area.
There is still one active case in the Bonnyville area, as one infection was resolved on Wednesday.
Chief medical officer Dr. Deena Hinshaw reported 120 new cases of the virus and two additional deaths.
This is the first time since May 2 that over a 100 new cases were reported in a single day.
There are currently 807 active cases, but since July 9, the North Zone which includes the Lakeland has had the fewest number of new cases.
Sixty-nine Albertans are currently in hospital and eight are in intensive care due to COVID-19.
The death toll provincially is 165 with an average age of 83.
The M.D. of Wainwright also has two active cases.
