Two active COVID-19 cases in Bonnyville area AHS map shows

There are now two active cases of COVID-19 in the Bonnyville area as of Wednesday.

The Alberta Health Services virus data map shows two active infections of novel coronavirus in the M.D. of Bonnyville area.

Before Monday, there was almost a two-month span between new, confirmed cases of the virus in the Lakeland.

The map says there has been six recoveries from the infection in the Bonnyville area, and eight total cases.

However, before the start of this week, there were seven total cases.

Alberta Health spokesperson Tom McMillan could not be reached at press time to provide comment on the discrepancy.

Similarly, Cold Lake shows a total of three cases, even though four cases was previously shown on the map.

Three total cases have occurred in the St. Paul area and six in the Vermilion River County area.

Forty-six new confirmed infections were reported on Wednesday provincewide.

There are now 608 active cases across Alberta, a decrease of 12 from the day before.

One additional death has been reported, an elderly man from the AHS South Zone, putting the death toll at 158.
