Lac La Biche Jr. Soccer is preparing for the fall
As some of the COVID-19 regulations start to become less strict, the Lac La Biche Jr. Soccer Society (LLBJSS) has made the difficult decision to cancel their summer program.
Last week, the LLBJSS had two meetings to discuss whether they would run a soccer program and what that would look like under the COVID-19 regulations. Since they couldn’t guarantee players safety during the pandemic, it was decided that they wouldn’t go through with a soccer program for the summer.
This means that over 100 children will not be able to play on a soccer team until the indoor soccer season starts in the fall.
“We have to organize it so that it is safe for the children, and their families, and for the summer months that goal is unrealistic at this time,” said the President of the Lac La Biche Jr. Soccer Society, Allan Robertson.
“We will be looking at building up for a fall program and get plans in place for the indoor soccer season.”
Every family that registered with the Lac La Biche Jr. Soccer Society for the 2020 outdoor season will be refunded.
Bonnyville Jr. Soccer accepting players from other districts
For Lac La Biche players wanting to kickstart their soccer season early, the Bonnyville Soccer Association is accepting players from other districts in the U13-U19 age group. Acceptance will be reliant on the amount of space and coaches available.
