Bonnyville RCMP and VSU want to spread birthday cheer to kids at home
Bonnyville authorities may be rolling up to your house with their sirens on, but don’t be alarmed, it’s for a cheerful reason.
Mounties are looking to spread some birthday joy during the COVID-19 pandemic and encourage parents with children who have a birthday coming up to let them know, so they can visit.
“We acknowledge with social distancing in place it’s impossible to throw the kind of birthday party all kids are used to,” said S/Sgt. Sarah Parke on Tuesday.
“We will do our best to stop by and wish them a happy birthday by way of some lights and sirens outside your house.”
Provide the child’s name, birthdate, and address and send the information to Katherine.hall@rcmp-grc.gc.ca and vsubonnyville@hotmail.ca.
They ask residents to give them as much of a head’s up as possible before their birthday.
