The Town and M.D. of Bonnyville both decided to close playgrounds at parks on Friday in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

They have followed suit with neighbouring St. Paul and Elk Point who took these measures last week.

This closure includes playgrounds found in the M.D.’s 11 campgrounds, and those located in subdivisions throughout the municipality.

The Town’s parks do not include parks controlled by Northern Lights Public Schools or Lakeland Catholic School District.

They will monitor playground use by the Alberta Health’s complaint website, which drives the COVID-19 fines announced by the province last week.
