Lac La Biche County has closed many of their public facilities as of Sunday night in response to COVID-19.

In response to the province’s increased measures of cancelling classes and closing daycares on Sunday, Lac La Biche County is closing the Bold Center, Portage Pool, and the Plamondon Arena effective Monday, March 16.

“The closures will remain in place for the foreseeable future—we do not yet have a timeline for when these facilities may reopen,” the County said in a press release.

At this time, County administrative offices, landfills, and transfer stations will remain open, subject to staff availability.

The County’s core services will continue to be offered.

“We apologize to our patrons for the inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience. Details are being worked out about placing potential holds on recreation memberships or offering refunds for programs or facility rentals.”
