Bonnyville RCMP recovered stolen property valued at over $60,000 and arrested three people following a search warrant outside of town.

Bonnyville RCMP, Cold Lake RCMP, the Bonnyville General Investigative Section (GIS) and the Cold Lake GIS executed a search warrant after police received a tip from the public that stolen items were located at a rural property in the M.D. of Bonnyville on Wednesday, Feb. 12.

Two stolen skidoos, a custom utility trailer, and two Ford F-250 trucks were seized by police.

A 26-year-old female of Cold Lake was taken into custody without incident, as police did not release their name.

Two additional suspects were apprehended at a later date, one of whom cannot be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act and have been charged with five counts of Possession of Property obtained by Crime over $5000.

All three were released on conditions to appear in Cold Lake Provincial Court on Mar. 25.

“One of the individuals charged as a result of this Search Warrant is well known to both the Bonnyville and Cold Lake Detachments as they have had a negative impact on both communities with their criminal behaviour,” said Bonnyville Staff Sergeant Sarah Parke.

“This is just another fine example of our two Detachments working collaboratively to fight rural crime to reach a common goal that benefits both communities.”
