One armed robbery suspect arrested; four remain at large

After numerous tips received by the public, the Eastern Alberta Rural Crime Reduction Unit (EADRCRU) arrested one of the five alleged suspects involved in the armed robbery at a gas station in Bonnyville that occurred on Jan. 15, 2020.

Preston Halfe (22) of Goodfish Lake was arrested on Jan. 27, 2020 without incident. He was charged with:

  • Robbery with a firearm
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
  • Disguised with intent to commit an offence

He was remanded into custody and will be appearing in Bonnyville Provincial Court on Feb. 4, 2020 via CCTV.

Police are no longer looking for the dark blue Dodge Caravan with Alberta Licence plate BZJ 8669 as it has been recovered.

“Our investigation will continue as we have four other suspects still out there,” says Staff Sergeant Sarah Parke, Bonnyville Detachment Commander. “We are asking the public to take a look at the four remaining suspects and give us a call if you recognize them.”
