Brinson Pasichnuk nominated for Hobey Baker Award
Brinson Pasichnuk has been nominated for the most prestigious award in US college hockey.
The Bonnyville-native and captain of the Arizona State Sun Devils is one of 81 nominees for the Hobey Baker Award given to the NCAA’s top men’s hockey player.
The list of nominees will be narrowed down to 10, but fans can weigh and influence who makes the list with the online vote.
Voting takes place until March 9.
The Hobey Baker Award is handed to the player who exhibits strength and character, both on and off the ice, contributes to the integrity of the team, displays outstanding skills in all phases of the game and shows scholastic achievement and sportsmanship.
The former Bonnyville Pontiac is enjoying his fourth and final season of collegiate hockey, scoring 20 points through 24 games.
Pasichnuk’s former Pontiacs teammate Bobby McMann was also nominated.
The ASU Sun Devils are ranked 14th in the country.
