On January 8, 2020 at approximately 5:30 p.m., Cold Lake RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle stolen from a parking lot at a business in Cold Lake north.
The victim had left the car running in the parking lot when an unidentified male suspect was seen entering the vehicle and driving away. Cold Lake RCMP are continuing to investigate.
Corporal Sean Dutch of the Cold Lake RCMP would like to remind the public to ensure that their vehicles are locked when left idling, particularly during the colder winter months. Cold Lake RCMP have noted an increase in the number of vehicles being stolen while left running in order to “warm up”, during all times of day.
