Cold Lake and Bonnyville Ag Societies are having their annual general meetings on Wednesday.

“It is a fantastic place to learn more about what the Ag Society does for our community and how you can be a part of the events,” says Lindsay Toth, Cold Lake board member.

The AGM is used to inform people on the role of the Ag Society and for recruiting new volunteers to assist them.

Anyone is permitted to join the board at the Ag Society, but the board of directors is limited to twenty-one people in Cold Lake.

The ag society produces many events throughout the year with the help of their countless volunteers.

The Bowlarama, Fall Fair, Cold Lake Rodeo, Farmers Market and many more are events hosted by the society.

Meanwhile, in Bonnyville, the ag society puts on the Chuckwagon Races, Rodeo and Fall Fair.

“This is a place that volunteers call home,” explains Toth.

The Ag Society is the longest and oldest volunteer organization in the Lakeland. Established on June 5, 1947, it has been around for 73 years.

“Doesn’t matter your skill or ability level, there’s a place for you.”

The event will take place at 6:00pm at the Cold Lake Agriplex at the upper level.

In Bonnyville, the meeting is at 7:00pm at the Pro Rodeo and Chuckwagon Grounds.
