Lakeland Panthers Bantam AA undefeated midway through hockey season
The Lakeland Panthers Bantam AA hockey team is having another whale of a season.
Just past the mid-way point of the year, the Panthers have yet to lose, supporting an 18-0 record with 14 games to play in the regular season.
No team has repeated as champions before in league history, but the Panthers are looking for their third Northern Alberta Bantam Hockey League title in a row.
The team averages over nine goals a game (9.4 per game) while only surrendering 30 goals against (1.6 per game).
They sit atop of the rural division, five points ahead of the Sturgeon Sting 14-2-3.
Forward Ben Skarsen, defenceman Zach Lapointe, and goaltenders Jed Houle and Josh Martin while coaches Darcy Skarsen, Chris Lacoursiere and Manager *Rogera Lapointe went to the league All-Star game in Grande Prairie this past weekend.
Team Black with the Panthers representatives won 12-4 with Skarsen scoring one goal and four assists while Jed Houle had a shutout in his period of play.
*A previous version of the story was written an incorrect spelling of Lapointe’s name. It has been corrected.
