On November 16, 2019, fish and wildlife officers received a call on the Report A Poacher line from concerned hunters who found three mule deer shot and left to waste south of Vermillion, west of Highway 41 on Township Road 494.

At approximately 4:30 pm, witnesses heard shots from the area. A vehicle with the following description was observed in the field:

• 2019 dark coloured Dodge Ram 1500
• Bright white headlights
• Decals/stickers on the back window
• Possible slip tank or tool box in truck box

After shooting, the suspect drove up to one of the deer, did not get out of his vehicle and left the area. At this time, witnesses could see all three deer laying in the field. The suspect was described as a lone male driver who appeared to be short in stature and wearing a light coloured ball cap.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Report a Poacher line at 1-800-632-3800 or submit an online report at alberta.ca/report-poacher.aspx. You can remain anonymous. Individuals who provide information that leads to charges being laid are eligible for a cash reward.
