Two post-secondary students from the Lakeland have received a newer community scholarship.

Katelyn Hornseth and Aimèe St. Laurent were named the 2019 Beaver River Fish and Game Scholarship Award winners in September.

It is the second time the BRFG has handed out the scholarship and the first time it’s been split.

Hornseth and St. Laurent each received $500.

Students who applied for the scholarship were asked to write a 1000 word essay on the environment conservation in Alberta and ways to combat the issue.

The scholarship is for BRFG members in high school, university and trades schools.
