After 30 years of serving the Lakeland Catholic School District (LCSD), Mme. Odette Caron is retiring and moving on to the next chapter of her life. Perhaps, being a techie, we would say she is rewiring, and not retiring, as we are sure she will be enjoying family and grandchildren.

In 1989, Odette began her career at St. Dominic Elementary School in Cold Lake teaching grade 5 French Immersion. She taught grade 5 and 6 French Immersion at this school for 15 years.

Over the years, her role changed within LCSD. She was the vice principal of Mackenzie River School (located at 4 Wing Cold Lake) for 3 years. She then taught at Holy Cross Elementary School for a few years before moving into the role of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Lead Teacher for the district, which then morphed into her current role of Instructional Learning Coach. She has held this position for the last 10 years.

Odette is a passionate and dedicated teacher who has shown steadfast commitment to being a servant leader within LCSD over the years and she is going to be missed tremendously by staff, students and parents. “Madame Odette,” as she is endearingly referred to, said she is going to miss the wonderful staff, students and parents within the LCSD. “At Lakeland Catholic, we have a great team, and when you work with these people for so many years, it is difficult to say goodbye,” she said.

LCSD wishes you a wonderful retirement filled with many continued blessings! You will always be a part of the Lakeland Catholic family.
