MP election candidates confirmed for Lakeland, Fort McMurray-Cold Lake

The federal election candidates in the local ridings have been confirmed.

The Lakeland riding sees a seven horse race between the Conservative Party’s former opposite critic for natural resources Shannon Stubbs against Mark Watson, Liberal Party, Alain Houle, People’s Party of Canada, Jeffrey Swanson, New Democratic Party, Kira Brunner, Green Party, Roberta Marie Graham, Veterans Coalition Party of Canada, and Robert McFadzea, Libertarian Party of Canada.

In the Fort McMurray-Cold Lake riding, the candidates are David Yurdiga, Progressive Conservative, Maggie Farrington, Liberal Party, Matthew Gilks, New Democratic Party, Brian Deheer, Green Party, and Matthew Barrett, People’s Party of Canada.

The nominees were confirmed by Elections Canada as of today.

The Bonnyville and District Chamber of Commerce is hosting a candidates forum next Tuesday at Dr. Brosseau School. Stubbs and Houle are both confirmed to attend.

The federal election is Oct. 21.
