Riverhurst Community Hall will see some upgrades.
The community hall applied for a provincial CFEP grant earlier this year and got approval in the amount of just over $55,000.
The M.D. of Bonnyville upheld their grant application and agreed to provide 40 per cent of the grant total to do the upgrades, pitching in almost $49,000.
The funds will go towards upgrading lights to LEDs, replacing attic insulation and repairing the vapour barrier.
“We have available to the halls a certain fund for upgrades. In this case, Riverhurst Hall were looking for some upgrades to their roof, their ceiling, their insulation,” said Reeve Greg Sawchuk on The Morning After.
“If anyone has been out there and saw the ceiling tiles, they recognize there was some need for improvement there. We’re sending some funding there so they can improve their hall.”
The funds come from the M.D.’s Community Association Capital Grant.
