Bonnyville RCMP are pursuing charges against a landowner after five cattle died in vehicle accidents north of Muriel Lake.

The accidents occurred on Highway 657 which caused two single vehicle accidents, north and southbound, which resulted in the death of five cattle.

No major injuries were sustained, RCMP said.

RCMP had to assist in putting down two of the cattle injured in the accidents, said S/Sgt. Sarah Parke.

The file is still under investigation.

The charge would stem from allowing cattle to access the highway and not being properly fenced in, said S/Sgt. Parke.
