Patients in long term care were treated to a special donation in late June, reports Alberta Health Services North Zone senior communications advisor, Amy Crofts.

“Alberta Health Services would like to thank the Cold Lake Hospital Auxiliary and the Cold Lake Medical Development Fund Society for their generous donations of a sit-stand lift, low rise bed, and special mattresses, respectively,” stated Crofts in an email statement. “This equipment greatly assists with the care of our long term care residents.”

The sit-stand lift will ensure the safety of residents and staff during lifts and transitions. The low rise bed will help those who are at risk of falling.

The donation of two specialized mattresses, will help residents who require special surfaces due to fragile skin conditions and wounds.

“Cold Lake Long Term Care staff, residents and their families are grateful for these kind donations,” stated Crofts.
