M.D. of Bonnyville wants to see your beautiful farms, acreages and gardens

Nominations are now open for the M.D.’s Agricultural Service Board’s Rural Beautification Contest.

Until July 15, residents can enter nomination forms at the Ag & Waste Services Office (61330 Range Road 455) or online here, which lists the criteria to enter.

Acreages, farms and gardens are eligible, said Reeve Greg Sawchuk.

“Show us your effort because the ones we’ve visited in the past are unbelievable – the amount of work that goes into these yards.

“So this an opportunity for the residents to nominate their neighbours and maybe they’ll be part of the beautification tour. We’ll have folks going out there and visiting them and they can tell about all their special plants and such.

“They do get a nice award and some nice pictures.”

Commercial landscaping, U-Picks and greenhouse businesses are ineligible for this contest as well as artificial plants will not be accepted.

It is the third rural beautification contest the M.D. has put on.
