St. Paul RCMP working to identify human remains found in Saddle Lake

St. Paul RCMP are working to identify human remains found outside of a property in Saddle Lake.

St. Paul RCMP responded to a call Tuesday evening where human remains were reported outside of a residence in Saddle Lake.

“We are working with the Chief Medical Examiner’s office to identify the remains at this time,” said Cpl. Ron Bumbry.

RCMP are actively searching the area with the assistance of Police Dog Services and search members as well.

The RCMP cannot confirm at this time that the human remains are linked to a previous missing person investigation in Saddle Lake.

The earliest the Chief Medical Examiner could identify the body is late next week, said Bumbry, however, there is no timeline to identify the deceased.

The investigation is ongoing.

On May 6, Kimberly Cardinal of Saddle Lake was reported missing and over 100 people took part in a search party for the 34-year-old woman.

The RCMP do not who know the deceased and cannot confirm these remains are linked to a missing person case.
