Strawberry Tea raises roughly $1500 for new hospital equipment

The Bonnyville Auxilian ladies at the Strawberry Tea fundraiser at the Bonnyville Health Care Centre last Tuesday.

The Strawberry Tea fundraiser at the Bonnyville Health Centre Auxiliary was another success.

The annual event raised $1467 for new hospital equipment.

“The strawberry tea is an annual fundraiser put on by the Bonnyville Auxilian ladies,” said organizer Estelle Dechaine.

“We raise funds to help our doctors buy equipment who are always in need. It seems like we get requisitions for need information, new equipment monthly. This is our goal is to help buy hospital equipment.”

Dechaine said the event is a fun one to plan and participate in.

“I have a great committee helping me and every volunteer from the Bonnyville Auxilians partakes which makes it a great event.”

Dechaine thanked Lakeland Credit Union, Sobey’s, and members from the Auxiliary for helping put on the Strawberry Tea.

The Bonnyville Health Care Centre Auxilians will once again be awarding two bursaries of $1000.00 each to students enrolled in and attending a health related program.

The application deadline has passed for the bursaries.
