The Bonnyville Sr. Pontiacs held their annual awards banquet this weekend.

Players, coaches and volunteers gathered to put the 2018-19 season in the books and celebrate the achievements from the past season.

The Sr. Pontiacs went 3-13 last season and finished last in the North Central Hockey League, but only missed the playoffs by a couple points.

They hope to fix their recruitment issues in time to ice a bigger roster next year.

Calvin Giese and Denis Cadrin each won two awards. Giese took home the President’s Award for commitment and and Top Rookie, while Cadrin won Top Scorer and MVP.

Giese played in 11 games and was called by Coach Corey Wandler one of the most consistent players this past year for the Sr. Pontiacs.

Denis Cadrin lead the team in scoring with 22 points in thirteen contests. Lucas Isley was second with 14 points in just five games.
