Lisa Murphy named Executive Director of Lakeland Centre for FASD
The Board of Directors of Lakeland FASD Society is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Executive Director, Lisa Murphy.
On April 24, 2019 the Lakeland FASD Society Board of Directors appointed Lisa Murphy as the new Executive Director for the Lakeland Centre for FASD. Murphy follows the Centre’s previous long-term Executive Director, Audrey McFarlane, who has moved on to a National role, as Executive Director for Canada FASD Research Network
Lisa Murphy has worked in the field of FASD for 15 years. She has held various roles over the years with the Lakeland Centre for FASD and has been mentored by her predecessor. The Board of Directors is excited to have Murphy take on the role of Executive Director of the Lakeland Centre for FASD.
“This is a tremendous honor to lead this organization and guide the 50 employees in the region and oversee the 15 programs that we operate” Murphy said.
The Lakeland Centre for FASD has been serving the area since 2000 with diagnostic services, intervention supports and prevention programs. This organization is recognized as a national leader in developing and delivering rural based programming.
he Centre will be celebrating 20 years of service in 2020 and plan on recognizing the many accomplishments of the organization including those of Audrey McFarlane as one of the founding members.
The Annual General Meeting is scheduled for June 21st, 2019 at the Lakeland Centre for FASD main office in Cold Lake. Drop by and meet Lisa!
