Cold Lake RCMP are advising the public that they have received multiple bear sightings.
On April 23, 2019, at approximately 7:30 pm, the Cold Lake RCMP received several calls for a nuisance bear in the Lions Park area of Cold Lake. The park is frequented by families with young children and is adjacent to a popular walking path.
In recent days, Cold Lake RCMP have responded to several more calls from the public regarding black bears in the southern region of the city. Police Officers have been utilizing vehicle horns and sirens to move the bears along.
Cold Lake RCMP would like to remind the public to secure their waste receptacles and to be aware of their surrounding near wooded areas.
The Cold Lake RCMP are asking the public to contact Fish and Wildlife or the Cold Lake RCMP at 780-594-3302 to report a nuisance bear in their area.
