St. Paul RCMP investigate fatal collision
A male and a female have died following a fatal collision outside of St. Paul. One other was seriously injured.
On April 18, 2019 at approximately 4:30 p.m., the St Paul RCMP were dispatched to a two vehicle, fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 29 approximately five kilometers east of St Paul. One vehicle caught fire with a female trapped inside. Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire.
A male passenger succumbed to his injuries sustained in the collision. One of the female drivers was transported to an Edmonton hospital via STARS air ambulance. Tragically, the adult female driver who was transported to an Edmonton Hospital via STARS passed away on April 21, 2019.
The second female driver was transported to an Edmonton hospital where she remains in stable condition.
Collision Analysts attended the scene and traffic was re-routed from approximately 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation and further information is not available.
