The cause of a single vehicle accident on Range Road 420 is still under investigation, said Cold Lake RCMP.

Last Friday night, Cold Lake RCMP and Emergency Services responded to a single vehicle rollover on Range Road 420 (Baywood Road) in Cold Lake.

The driver and two occupants of the car lost control while travelling in the northbound lane and skidded into the ditch before the car rolled onto its roof.

The driver and occupants escaped with minor injuries and all three were taken to the local hospital by ambulance as a precaution.

The northbound lane was closed for almost an hour, while RCMP conducted their investigation and crews removed debris.

The cause of this accident is currently under investigation. Road conditions at the time were normal.

RCMP learn of children walking on thin ice

Cold Lake RCMP would like to remind the public that the remaining ice on Cold Lake is very thin and unsafe at this
time.

On April 9, Cold Lake RCMP was informed of several children standing on the ice at Kinosoo Beach in Cold Lake.

Officers attended and made extensive patrols of the area, but did not locate anyone on the ice, the Mounties said.

Persons travelling on the ice pose a risk to both themselves and first responders attempting rescue.

Cold Lake RCMP is asking the public’s assistance with educating children at home regarding the dangers of venturing onto the thawing ice.
